Al-Ikhlaas Primary School
Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to visit our website to learn more about our school. Al-Ikhlaas Primary School caters for children aged 3-11. The school opened in 2010 and is situated in Nelson, Lancashire, United Kingdom.
We are committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning for all our children. Small class sizes, well-qualified, committed and experienced staff ensure that children achieve their full potential and reach high standards across a wide range of studies and extra-curricular activities.
Our education is based on the National Curriculum and enhanced by a comprehensive Quran, Arabic and Islamic Studies curriculum. We believe that if secular and Islamic curricula are merged, then our children will grow up to be righteous, educated Muslims - who exemplify the most beautiful, noble and humane aspects of Islam and make a positive contribution to British Society.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please contact the school with any queries you may have or to arrange a tour of the school.
From all the team at Al-Ikhlaas Primary School
Our primary school has been open for 13 years and is now in need of expansion and refurbishment. Alhamdulillah, we were able to purchase extra land next to the school and are using it to expand the playground. In addition, we are carrying out the following refurbishment:
- Expand playground
- Expand reception class
- New carpet
- Decoration
Please donate generously towards this refurbishment.
Your child is entitled to 15 hours of free education per week. We welcome children from all the local areas including Nelson, Barrowford, Brierfield, Colne, Burnley and beyond.
- Your child is eligible for the funding from the term following their third birthday.
- The 15 hours is provided from 8.30am to 11.30am and 12.00pm to 3.00pm each day.
- You will be requested to complete a Parent Claim Form each term. You must ensure that you detail any other nurseries that you attend on this form. Failure to complete this form each term will result in a withdrawal of the free place.
30 free hours
Some children maybe eligible for free 30 hours of free childcare from September 2017. The additional 15 hours of free childcare is available for families where both parents are working (or the sole parent is working in a lone-parent family), and each parent earns the equivalent of 16 hours a week at the national minimum or living wage, and earns less than £100,000 a year.
If you would like to look at the nursery or book a place for your child, please contact the school to make an appointment. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming your child into our nursery.
